Eva is a mechanical engineer retrained as a jewellery artist and designer living in the UK. She holds a Masters of Fine Art in Jewellery Design from Edinburgh University. Since graduating, she has been developing her practice as an artist/designer in parallel with teaching art and design at Nottingham Trent University. Eva’s engineering background blends with her traditional upbringings in rural Spain. Technology and traditional crafting is latent in her process producing unexpected outcomes. With her wearable objects, Eva tries to make people appreciate the ordinary and our man-made surroundings by stimulating their curiosity and perception. Eva’s work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, including: Schmuck (Munich), Collect London, CODA Museum (The Netherlands), Galerie Marzee (The Netherlands), Beijing International Art Jewellery (China) among others. Eva has recently been awarded the Develop Your Creative Practice grant by the Arts Council England and The Brussels Jewellery Week Award of Budapest Jewellery Week. |
